Thank You!

Thank YouTo Everyone who helped me with your support: I could write a book about all the people who have helped us through these difficult times (I might just do that someday), but it would be nearly impossible to write to each and every one of you individuals that I need to say thank you to. I will sing your praises and your thank you’s for the rest of my life. Anyone who has ever struggled or seen someone struggle with long term chronic health issues deserves a huge thank you for continuing to fight and live their lives with joy every day. It is one tough battle, I can tell you that! By the world’s standards I have a pretty impressive resume. However, living my life to the fullest each and every day and learning to be thankful for all the little blessings that God has given me is the greatest accomplishment I have ever made! So thank you for helping me, thank you for sharing your blessings with me and thank you for your love.

To Everyone who prayed for me: Thank you to all for your prayers and good wishes. I am fully convinced that your prayers literally saved my life. I am shocked and amazed at how many people from all over the world were praying for my recovery. Your prayers gave me the strength to persevere and warmed my heart.

To My Wife Lynnette: Thank you to the woman, the love of my life, and my best friend who was always there with her help and compassion through it all. I know it has been a long tough road for her but she was always there to kick me in the ass when I needed it and to dry my tears and encourage me through the darkest hours. Thank you for having the courage to be the voice I couldn’t be, even if it meant stepping way outside your comfort zone to take care of things for me. Thank you for being so strong when I wasn’t. And especially, thank you for keeping God ever present in our lives.

To My family: Thank you to my parents and my sons and daughters and siblings for never giving up on me. I am continually amazed at how strong my mother and father are and how they never broke down, but I also was comforted to see you cry every now and then as I suffered. Thank you to my sons and daughters and siblings for your encouragement and for giving me a hug when I needed it. I know I put a huge stress on our family. I cannot thank you enough for never wavering with your love.

To My best friends: Thank you to my close friends who were always there with kind words, compassionate eyes, and warm hugs through it all. Thank you for always being a phone call, text, or email away, never judging me, and forever keeping the sun shining on my ailing body. Thank you for being brave right along-side me and never losing faith.

To My Doctors and Nurses: Thank you for your care and your love. Thank you for allowing your hands and hearts to be guided by our Heavenly Father. Your knowledge, understanding, and skills to diagnose my needs and ease my suffering were amazing. Your concern and kindness of heart melted away all my fears. I know that my medical maladies weren’t an “easy” case (a definite hard stick) but you will forever be in my heart as God’s healers.

As you all know, my medical journey is not over as we wait for the re-transplant and the unknown outcome of the cancer exposure, but this is the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. A good time to pause and give thanks.

With all my love,

Coach Randy Traeger
